As long as this is 12.5mg/5ml the dose for 350g is .28cc and for 400g it is .32cc so depending upon where they fall between those numbers dose accordingly. Remember that although this medication can cause drowsiness in a small percentage of squirrels it can cause hyperactivity. Ask Stosh about using it to calm Cruiser for tooth trimming only to have it hop him up! Yikes!

Can anyone confirm that I'm reading that right. Is it in fact 6.25 mg/5mL? If so what is the amount I should be giving for 6.25?

My first thought is to just double the amount based on the previous advice at 12.5mg/5mL but I'm not strong in those areas...

Can you check him for other "lumps/blisters/pimple" around the head and shoulders? Also check his paws for same.

Ok so....

Blacky (possible sinuses?) got 0.56mL. He was not happy about it and it was a battle. He kept trying to run off. It was a very slow process.

Jacko (the lump): I took a closer look. The lump doesn't seem pussy although it's hard to feel for content as he gets fidgetty the second I touch it. May be because it hurts or because it's close to his eye. I tried to check his body visually and feel around as best I could. I couldn't detect anything else. It's not impossible that there's isn't another somewhere but it would be pretty well hidden. The lump on his head does seem to have ac rust/scab to it.

My little guys are fidgetty. They're not used to me manipulating them so much. As they've grown I've made a point of not picking them up as much as when I first got them. They can climb on me and I'll pet them a bit. They love to climb all over me. However, i try to not encourage them to look for human affection too much. Especially that there's three of them to interact together. So yeah, they're comfortable with me and love to climb on me when I'm near but they're not used to me prodding them so much. Which makes it difficult to get them to keep calm while I look for lumps and bumps. *Sigh*

Any thoughts on the lump for Jacko?

As for Blacky: Should I be giving Benadryl again at some point?

I guess it could be an abscess or a bot fly larva. Hopefully someone else will chime in, but a pic is always helpful.

From my readings, it's unlikeky botfly in canada and i haven't sen any deerfly or wasps in the house.

They haven't been out yet.

Does polysporin help in these cases? What if were to put the eyedrop version of polysporin (as it's close to eyes and worry of it getting into eyes)?

Abscesses will generally rupture on their own or need to be lanced. I don't think that save would help. Antibiotics sometimes can.

Bot flies shouldn't be messed with unless you absolutely know what you're doing. They're usually allowed to run course unless they threaten life, vision, etc.
