    Default Prepping wild foods

How do you prep your wild foods to give to your squirrels?

I cut down some maple branches yesterday (a trailer load). I put aside a couple of branches. There's a really big one that we left a couple of leaves and helicopters on. We brought it home and my husband used his air compressor to blow out any hitchikers we may have missed. We brought it into the hosue immediately after and left in the doorway on the ceramic floor. That we yesterday. It's still in the door way on the ceramic floor.

What else can I do to ensure it's ok to give to the squirrellies?

Can they have green helicopters or do they have to be brown? I actually had collected a garbage bag full of green helicopters but told my hubby to toss it as I wanted to check on board what I should do first.

    Thank you everyone!!

They can have the helicopters any way, green or brown. I'm jealous, I missed them here. They have already come and gone I don't do anything for the wild foods I bring in. I leave the bugs too. They eat some of them, lol. Some people freeze and stuff but I have only seen where a couple of people do that. They need the green from the wild branches. Also things like dandelion, clover, grasses, etc... Leaves, stems, branches and roots!
