Indian palm squirrel high pitch squeaking

Day before yesterday my squirrel made a bird like squeaking sounds but in high pitch like she was just at home chilling and she suddenly made a sweet squeaking note and we all thought it's because she was happy. Yesterday she made that sound again but twice and today she doubled them more and kept squeaking, i didn't notice any kind of discomfort or threat around her..she was happily roaming around and just makes that noise out of the blue?? Why is that so? I went through google to know but i just couldn't find any. Is it a mating call??? Or ? It's just because she's happy?��

In my greys they will do a crying noise a barking noise mostly when looking outside. However sometimes just sitting and it's a pathetic cry cry but cute. They sometimes stare while doing it.

I'm getting pretty good at speaking fluent squirrel but sometimes I get stumped 🤔

I find that mine will do that when they see or hear something that I've missed completely, like a large bird passing by or the distant roar of an engine. Once they get started, they literally can't stop for several minutes.

Yess exactly she just stares into nothing and squeaks and then stops like nothing happened... she's not afraid or anything, she'll just sit and squeak

Ohhh I see..mine does the same too but today was completely different she was roaming around and stopped suddenly and squeaked 🤔. Also she's around 10 months now..lot of articles says she'll mate when she's over 1 year so now do i have tooo find her a mate!!??? Or will they be fine on their own without mating

If you find her a mate, you will soon have many, many squirrels. A mate of the same sex will provide companionship without the population explosion. She will feel that strong desire to mate, but her health will not be compromised by not consummating a male-female relationship.

Regarding the vocalizations ... squirrels communicate with, and thus can hear, sounds well beyond what we can hear. Their hearing is also far more sensitive than ours. Their sight is also superhuman. I'm almost certain that she's hearing and or seeing things you can't, and is responding; or, it occurs to her to start a conversation with squirrels around the yard and she is listening for a reply. Nothing at all to worry about.
