    Default Released squirrel now limping

So I released Robbie Mike and Chip roughly two months ago! They have really enjoyed being outside and still return to their nesting box every night. There have been two occasions where Robbie has been only able to get around on 3 legs. He has one paw in the front that seems to keep getting injured. I brought him inside this time because it seems worse this time than last? Did I do the wrong thing by bringing him? Does anyone have suggestions of what to do? I thought I would bring him in to let him rest and give him time to recover??

Its a judgment call. If he really can't get around on his paw, I think giving him some time inside might be needed to allow him to heal up. Paw injuries are pretty common and most heal up pretty quick. There is some slight risk that he will not be accepted by the others if he is away from them for too long. I would try to do a thorough exam and attempt to see exactly how bad his injury is. If nothing seems broken and he can put weight on it if required, I would probably put him back out with his cage buddies. But if he is really hurt and can't use the paw right now, he will need some time to heal.

At this point he is not using it he just holds it up and puts no weight on it! He’s a little mad at me for the moment because he really want s to go back out😬
