Missing two front teeth

I have posted here in the past and you guys have helped me out greatly before,

I have a 7 year old grey squirrel that we've raised from birth. Recently noticed he is missing his two front teeth. He has not damaged his front teeth in any way. From what I've noticed there's no infection, but I don't see any signs of other teeth growing back. He has recently seemed very lazy recently. He cannot eat his nuts, but he is eating. I have fed him soft foods recently, such as cucumber and lettuce and apples. I'm just looking for some help.

What could the problem be? Will his teeth grow back? Is his behavior related to his missing teeth?

There was a story on the board about McFatty I think was his name. He was a wild squirrel whose top teeth were broken off somehow. His bottom teeth became too long as a result. He had to be trapped and taken to a rehabber for a bottom teeth trim. He was kept in captivity until his top teeth grew back. All was well after that and he was released. Based on that story, keep an eye on the bottom teeth to make sure they don't get too long and the top teeth should come back. My girl broke one of her top teeth off for about half of the expose length. It grew back in a short time.

What do you mean by missing teeth but has not damaged front teeth?
Appears to me there has been. Are the missing teeth top incisors or bottom?
I assume they have been broken off, can you see anything at the gum line?
If the roots or nerves have not been damaged they should grow back, it takes
time and as suggested you will need to keep the ones there trimmed so they
don't get too long since they don't have the others to grind down with.
Not surprising he can't eat his nuts, feeding the softer foods is good but I'm
curious if you feed any type of block and wondering if the broken teeth and
concerned laziness could be a depletion /lack of calcium.

If they don't grow back it is due to odontoma.
