Our Buddy is chipping/chewing on the tips and we are afraid he will injest the plastic. Is there some type of squirrel proof syringe?! We have tried many different types of nipples on them but he prefers just the syringe.

My little guy did the exact same thing. He’d gnawed off the entire end by the time he weaned. I was amazed it still held formula. But he never choked or ate the plastic best I could tell. I have seen people recommend one called a miracle nipple. They also have syringes on the site that have better rings for a more even flow. I can’t recall the site but if you google miracle nipple I bet you find it.

I know of no syringe that has anything other than a plastic tip. The website sottinger is referring to is Henry’s Healthy Pets. Miracle syringes and miracle nipples work great.
As for biting off the tip, I don’t know of any way to prevent him from chewing on it. Some seem to be chewers and some not. It could be because he’s getting teeth, too. Have you offered some acceptable things to chew on like antlers, safe tree limbs, seashells, marrow bones, etc?

I think he's around 6-7 weeks old and we just started giving him squirrel blocks. He seems to love those and crumbles them all over his bed. I'm a worrier so it's probably ok. I will check out that site. Is he old enough to give tree limbs and things like that yet?
