My eastern grey is 6 months old. yesterday i cleaned her cage with soap and water amd moved her wooden hideout. when i went to go see Ember last night she attacked my hand and then repeatedly tried to attack me through the cage. Today she was mostly fine during the day except when i tried to pick her up she growled at me. And then i went to check on her again tonight and woke her up bc i was teaching my pet sitter how to take care of her and she was lunging at us through the cage. shes gotten moody before but never more than a day. is she going through heat? is she going to stay like this? she was clicking her teeth and growling at us as we talked 5 feet away from her cage. shes normally so sweet

is she going to be a pet or a release? sometimes they will get like that if they are in the house a lot, but will probably stop after a while. have you started using a new shampoo or detergent? sometimes smell change can upset them. this can all happen but I'm not super experienced with this problem so someone else might step in with better knowledge.

shes a pet. shes my baby. i give her usually an hour to 4 hours of playtime a day. no, no new soaps or anything. i hope it stops i want my nightly cuddles with her :/

Does she get nuts in the shell? If she is storing nuts in her cage, she will become fiercely protective of her stash. You truly need to remove any that she has buried in there if you want her personality to calm down.

i give her two walnuts with shells evey morning. she never had stashes before but i havent been able to check bc shes been so aggressive. i will try to remove them tomorrow if there’s anything hidden

What do you feed her on a daily basis? My first thought was a stash of food. But maybe she doesn't feel well?

i give her two walnuts with shells. 3 cherry tomatoes. 1 grape. 3 blueberries. red lead lettuce a handful. some steam fresh veggies. 1 raw asparagus. 1 henry rodent block. i also give her bok choy, coconut oil, endive, apples, avocado, brussel sprouts, carrots, almonds, sugar snap peas, banana nut bread (on a rare occasion), sweet potato fries. i recently got her these guinea pig treats kaytee honey trick sticks. mazuri rodent blocks are usually in her cage. and usually another henry rodent block at night

she was semi fine today i took her out gave her play time my pet sitter was in the room with us she sniffed my friend jumped onto her lap i stuck my hand out to pet her and comfort her and she attacked my hand. i tried to scruff her to calm her down and she was still going ape **** so i grabbed her and held her against me and put her in her cage. i also moved her house back down a level to where it use to be

I have had a similar experience with my 10 month old female. She was fine and loving one day and then suddenly has become unpredictable and aggressive. I literally could do anything with her and she would never respond aggressively. She has been a nest building machine lately, as well.....don’t know if that matters. I’m not sure if this new behavior is the result of her maturing (estrus) or just wilding up. In the past she has never shown much interest in being outside, but now I’m not so sure about that. I intend to let her make that decision by putting her in the release cage and observing her behavior.

haha 😅 she was a perfect angel tonight. kisses cuddles and play bites. i think she got mad bc i moved her house. this is what i get for trying to organize her cage and give her more running room.
