Every year I'm invited to go an elementary school and speak to 4th graders about squirrels and show them some pictures etc. Apparently they get credit towards their science requirements when I do this. And ALWAYS, ALWAYS without doubt I am asked "how do to tell a boy from a girl" by one of the students. And without hesitating I reply "if you can't tell if it's a boy or a girl then "It's a Girl!" because you'll know a boy when you see one!

In all honesty, I'd like to tell them that squirrels are neither boys or girls... they're squirrels! And either male or female!
