Could this be bot flies and their "warbles" somehow became "wolves" in some region?

I have heard them called this before..They are the same thing as a maggot under the skin..After a fly has landed on the animal.

Yep, 'wolves' are bot fly larva, or warbles. I've heard them referred to as wolves more than bot flies, down here in the south. You can read about their treatment here on TSB. Just look under this forum on the thread "Bot Flies".

In my language, we call warbles/worbles(sp) as wolves when you translate the word in English.. :D
