I think sometimes when these babies snort formula it causes a small pocket of fluid in their sinus cavity that gives off a click as air is passed around it until the fluid dissipates. When this happens one can hear the click fairly prominent in the upper respiratory and not so much coming from the lower respiratory area around their lungs. It's hard not to want to panic anytime a click is present but the difference between fluid in the sinus and fluid in the lungs is generally apparent with the classic symptoms of AP which has generally presented itself by the time the click is even detected.

Hey guys,
Thank you for all the advice I gave her one dose of meds the vet suggested it just to be safe with her.. it's .02 on a 1cc syringe. Now I'm wondering if I should
Stop and not continue it ? She ate her last feeding and got irritated with me because I was trying to wipe formula off. She does rest a lot but once it's feeding time she is very active and alert.
I guess now I'm wondering if I should stop the meds? I don't want to hurt her stomach 🙁 And I do think she is straining to poop a bit but as of yesterday still pooping.
Still no clicking or open mouth breathing so I'm wondering if she is fine ? And I'm medicating her for nothing ? But then again is better to be safe based on last night?

HRT4SQRLS posted a wonderful thread on how to easily hear them clicking.
And stepnstone made a great observation as well.
Also in stepnstone's post he created another thread, click that link on as well.
Excellent information, absolutely excellent!
I think they're both worth reposting.
Wow! That seems a lot like her too. I'd hear it for a bit then it'd go away then again then goes away But she would be in her little box when I would hear it so that's interesting maybe that's I'm not hearing much bc she Has been in her big cage all day today. I have a stethoscope at my moms I'm going there tomorrow morning I think to be safe I'll give her the second dose antibiotics tonight and I'll check her with stethoscope in the morning. She is suppose to be on them twice a day for 10 days. Is that how long they usually are on them? At this point since I gave her it this morning already I think it's worth it to be safe to give it to her tonight? She is still active before a feeding and still eating but I feel like a couple days she was a wild child and she seems more mellow the last couple days not drastically but that plus the incident last night she Had me really concerned.
Thank you for sharing!
We typically don't like to start abs. and then stop. But if the bin
amplified it, I would give her the second dose tonight.
Get the stethescope and listen tomorrow.
Remember to give probiotics 2 hours prior or after dosing any antibiotics.
Also, keep them well hydrated when on any meds.

How are things going?
The antibiotics I believe were necessary she seemed much more active this morning and afternoon although now she seems to be having some runny poo and bloat is this from antibiotics ? I am doing the probiotics from cvs mixed with a little sugar water because she will not drink it alone. Is this normal or should I be concerned about the diarrhea ? It seems like she has partial solid and some diarrhea it was a little at first but when I checked on her a bit later there was more diarrhea. Other than that she is still eating well. And still munching her blocks. I should say too the blocks, antibiotics, and probiotics were all introduced very close to each other so I'm not entirely sure what's cause of it. She seems ok I'm just a little worried about runny poop now.
Please refresh me.
What antibiotics did the vet suggest, and what is the dose you are giving?
Hydrate her in between feeding with pedialyte.
Anytime they have diarrhea they lose electrolytes.
Are you feeding Powdered Pupply Esbilac?
What amount are you feeding her at each feeding?
She is taking clavamox .2cc twice a day for 10 days today is day two
She is 136 grams and we feed esbilac 9cc each feeding (every4-5hours) plus she has a Henry's block she munches on as well. Her night feeding is at 11 and so her next meds should I do her regular feeding ? Is it ok do a little watered down formula for her night feeding? I won't be able to get pedialyt till the morning?
I should state that before antibiotics even started I noticed she was looking a little bloated but she still had normal poop
OK I see her weight is 136 grams.
What is the strength of your Clavamox?
Are you feeding POWDERED Esbilac where you have to add water?
EDIT: We desperately need to know EXACTLTY what formula you are feeding.
Take a picture of the can, this could be the source of her tummy issues.

That defiantly is the right formula and you are mixing it 2 parts water, one part powder, right? Also, Nancy asked if you could post a picture of the Clavamox bottle so she can make sure it has been dosed correctly. If she is on too high of a dose, it could very well cause digestive issues. I am glad to hear she is more active since you started the meds. Hope she will continue to improve.

I "believe" that's a strength of 62.5.
If that's true which I think it is the dose should be 0.04
.2 would be the amount for a squirrel weighing ~ 650 grams.
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT DOSE!
Is this what your Clavamox looks like?
If so did the vet already add suspension/reconstitute this?
