Why does a young red squirrel bounce its back legs? Emma has done this a few times. I'm not sure bounce is the best description. She's almost vibrates her back legs against whatever surface she's upon.

OK from my experience, it can mean that she is pissed off (or on alert), OR
excited. Does this make sense from when you've seen her do this?
Be aware when you see this, she may be seeing something outside that is
annoying her.
You KNOW I would love pictures of your little princess!

Oh it's a li'l red squirrels! I see our Fox squirrels in the yard do the 'little jig', when they are anxious to get food; pretty fun to watch.
Here's a Euro Red squirrel from across the pond, that just couldn't hold in its anticipation to get a nut!

Here's a short video of Emma playing. Before anyone laughs...I'm using my "talkin' to a baby squirrel voice". The trick I referenced at the beginning of the video was Emma leaping straight up and out towards the side of the cage (and sticking the landing). Wished I caught that on video. She likes to climb up my pant leg (not too far, LOL). Best to have socks on as those little claws leave scratches. It's amazing how acrobatic these little squirrels are. When I built the cage, I was concerned about her reaching her hammock and a few other areas. I moved things closer to the sides for easy access. Now she can leap far and high. Trying to keep an eye on her in close quarters is often difficult. She darts around making turns and jumps so quickly.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!
Aren't they the fastest little creatures ever.
Glad she listened to you and got out from under your jeans.
I have tons of videos of Jeffrey, and I've always said, videos really
show a little one's personality, especially with a red!
Make sure to take a lot, I love your little girl.
Thanks for sharing your video of your li'l red squirrel; it was fun to watch!
They sure are fast aren't they; they don't have those racing stripes on their sides for nothing do they?
Oh little Emma is just adorable!
