Teeth cutting....

Hello! My lil' guy will not play with rocks or cuddle bone. He'd eat shelled nuts all day....but for dietary reasons I do not allow that. So...how are you all keeping their teeth cut to a safe length? Is it OK to offer them a dog done to chew on? Not sure he will, but...happy to try if you think safe? Thanks!!!

Yes, they can have a bone. Another thing that many seem to like is antler. From what I understand they prefer the aged, sun bleached antlers rather than fresh sheds.

There are a couple nuts that are extremely hard like black walnuts and hickory nuts. You could allow them to gnaw it but then remove it when they lose interest. Even when they get into it, a hickory nut doesn’t have that much flesh inside. Of course, you are correct that nuts aren’t good for them so they must be limited. You could use a single in shell nut as their treat for a couple days.

If the teeth are normal (not maloccluded), I don’t think many have problems keeping the teeth at a proper length.
