You can get it, but it is less likely (I assume you wash your hands after handling her). The other critters are more at risk, as they could have easily come into contact with fecal matter, since squirrel poop seems to get everywhere (or is that just my house? lol) May not be a bad idea to just treat the whole bunch, as much as a pain that is. For them to be that large, she has had them a while (they don't usually start passing them until they get quite a few of them, from my understanding.)

Looks like a tape worm to me. Praziquantel (name brand Droncit) is the dewormer for tapes.

Carolyn, look at the pics in this link. Did the worm look like this in real life or was it smoother looking?

My educated guess without examination would be round worm.
But regardless of tape or round, Praziquantel (Cestex, Droncit) will
take care of either or both.

Droncit should be dosed at 5-10mg/kg and should be repeated in 10 days.

EDIT: Personally, I'd dose at the low end of 5mg/kg.

No, the worm was not like that one..... it was smooth looking. The pic I took just makes it look like it is in section at the top, but it is round & smooth.

Then personally, I'd use the Pyrantel. However, the Droncit would work too.

I would definitely get something for the dog too. They are notorious for eating poop... When I had cats that were indoor/outdoor and one of them got worms, they ALL got wormed. Otherwise you risk reinfection.

When I first saw this, my thought was with Loopy and tape worms.
It did appear segmented at first.

It's nice that all of you caught that, and recognized what was there.
I'm impressed as how quick y'all picked up on this.

Just got back from the vet.... they did a float test, but sadly it did not show any thing, and their wildlife vet was not
on call today, so I will have to wait until Monday for her to look at the 2nd (much smaller) worm I took in for her to
identify, because the tech could not do it.

I am concerned about Darla, she is more lethargic this morning, --all I have is Ivermectin on hand.
Can some one please dose that for me..... Darla weighs 270 grams.

That's what I would give too if the ivermectin was the one from Chris at 1%.
The size of an uncooked piece of rice.
Poor little peanut, please let us know how she is doing.
