mbd??? started emergency calcium but what about eating?

Male squirrel, approximately 4 months old, started emergency treatment of mbd this morning. He's lethargic. Woke up to this. Very little movement, when he moves he hops rather than walks. Coincidentally I ordered last night before I went to bed Henry's Rodent Blocks. I had tried pet store blocks, wouldn't eat them. My question is what to feed him in the meantime while he's recovering and I am waiting on blocks to arrive. He doesn't seem to have much appetite. Help! This is breaking my heart!!!

If he will still take formula, you can give him that. Another good choice is Ensure - the nutrition shakes - it is sweet and packed with nutrients. Nutrical, from a pet shop is another good emergency choice.

How long has this little one been off formula?

What formula did you raise him on?
If he wasn't eating the store bought blocks, what solids was he eating as his staple food up til now? Knowing a complete diet up til now will be helpful.
You have 2 squirrels? How is the other? What is their story?

If he's lethargic and won't eat, try rubbing some molasses on his gums. The sugar can perk them up and it even has calcium. Other syrups can work too, but aren't quite as good. It can spur appetite.

All classic signs of mbd, four months is prime age
for mbd without receiving proper nutrition.
Mbd is very painful, bones become brittle.
Even chewing can be painful.
Confine his space, put him on heat half under containment.
Follow protocol for mbd to the letter!
