I have a 5 week old boy and the finder watched him fall from the nest. It was a crowded park so he took the baby and long story short, I have him. Baby was breathing VERY heavily for over a day, so he went to the vet to try to get xrays, but the vet didn't think they were necessary, but gave me the normal spiel of watch for signs of neuro issues, etc. Otherwise gave him a clean bill of health. After a quick wipe-down later that evening, I noticed dark bruising on his abdomen under his white fur. Figure that's the reason for his heavy breathing.
Now on to my issue: This baby sleeps HARD. Stupid hard. And he twitches a lot in his sleep. Last night, I heard nails against the bin he's in so naturally I went to check. He was VIOLENTLY twitching. I grabbed him immediately and his jaws were opening and closing and he wound up biting me. He was super super limp when I held him, head hanging and lolling about, and still twitching, if you can consider it twitching. I would have sworn he was seizing. I placed him on my lap and turned my head to grab my phone next to me and he stopped. I turned my head back and he was awake, giving me a funny look (pic below).
Has anyone had a baby act like that? He doesn't display any neuro symptoms, but I'm terribly concerned over last night's episode. After he woke up, he had a look in his eyes like he didn't feel good and he just laid on my chest for about 30 minutes until I decided to go to bed. He's acting fine today.
Meet Alfredo!
