Post Baby squirrel approx 6 weeks old extra itchy very dry skin please help!!

I have a squirrel approx 6 weeks old. Some high school kids found it at their school and were keeping it in a locker by the pool and feeding it whatever snacks they had My friend called and asked if I would take it knowing I was heart broken over the release of the last baby I had and now me not having anybody to play with... so I said yes. He's healthy and fiesty, he eats good, I feed him the squirrel formula but ha also eats nuts and fruit. I've had him al n it a week and noticed he has been extremely itchy, I thought he might have mites and saw that he had itched a sore on his back so a gave him a quick bath with warm water and mild soap . He wasn't happy but he was very good about it. I dried him immediately and put new bedding for the night in his cage and washed everything that I took out of the cage. Tonight I was petting him and skin is extremely dry and irritated and bumby the skin is like that around his ears, eyes, and half way down his back, his hair is getting thin so im wondering what I can do for him,
Can I give him benadryl if so how much? Any suggestion would be great appreciated. I don't want him to be uncomfortable.

Little moving monster! Has he lost a lot of skin on the ears? They look like they are getting bare. Mange looks almost like they are covered in loose, silvery skin.

I've only had him since last Saturday and his ears look the same to me but the skin on his back has changed noticeably it's now bumpy and dry. Im going to send a better picture of his ears and back

What type of squirrel formula is he eating, how much and how often?

This little one should NOT be eating any nuts... time to start providing rodent block and only rodent block for now. Fresh veggies come after he is eating the block.

His fur looks unhealthy, likely from the diet of snacks at the pool and not having started on rodent block (healthy food).

Does all that flaky skin all over look like mange to you? It does to me... Having to survive on whatever doritos were around would tend to put a hurting on the immune system which would leave him open to it.

Yes, likely mange and there is no harm in treating for it (Revolution)...

Yes it does it just hasn't spread down to the second half of him yet it's only about halfway down his back and I'm feeding him Fox Valley formula every few hours he has 10 cc's

OK, the best treatment for mange is a topical treatment called Revolution. The drug name is Selamectin. You just put a single drop on the skin of the back of the neck, just below the ears. This place sells it:
    https://www.joespetmeds.com/flea-tic...-cats-dogs.htm

I would communicate with this company before you order because they are in Australia and you may run into issues with them shipping it due to the tariff situation. If so, there is another treatment you should be able to buy locally, which is equine ivermectin, which can be obtained at places like Tractor Supply - anywhere that sells items for livestock should have it. It is a bit more of a pain in the rear and we would want to work closely with you on the dosing, but it IS quite effective.

Let us know which you end up with.

Return it. This is a combination wormer - you want ONLY ivermectin. It is going to look just like this, in fact this brans is available as just ivermectin. You want JUST 1.87% ivermectin. It will probably be a little cheaper, too.

Amazon looks like they have it - a ton of different brands. Get the least expensive one that is ONLY ivermectin and does not have the praziquantel added to it. Most of them do not have it.
