Default Help Needed for Adult squirrel with large lump on nose

Hi I am helping care for an adult squirrel that has a large lump on nose. Lots of swelling, looks to be infected! Its a ladys squirrel that reached out to me to see if I would be able to help.. She noticed a little swelling two days ago and has gradually got worse. She doesnt look good! She said she only took a few bites of food last night and then she wouldnt come out of her bed today for dinner. She doesnt have a clue on how it happened. She has a large indoor cage for her, doesnt look like there is anything that she could have hurt herself on.. Maybe a bite of some sort? Her name is Big Girl and she is about 3 years old. Im gonna try to get a picture to post but til then what should I do. Im really worried that she isnt doing well. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Shellbee,

Get that picture posted ASAP. With luck, an admin will see it tonight and get you started on treatment.

Does the lump have a hole on top or an opening of any kind? We need to see if this is an injury that has abscessed or a parasite like a bot fly.
