    Default Big sneeze with booger/mucus?

    Happy Thanksgiving squirrel friends!
I have a 6 year old male that has had both upper incisors removed due to odontomas early this year (I'm sure many of you remember my non-stop worry and questions). He has done well since then.
Today he sneezed rapidly multiple times in a row and the last 2 sneezes produced a very white/opaque booger or snot only in left nostril. It hasn't happened again today but he sounds slightly stuffy at times. No labored breathing that I can tell. I've even held him to my ear to see if I could hear anything different.
Pee and poop are normal. He's been lazy today, maybe a little more than normal, but was very playful today and yesterday. He's eating well.

Has anyone experienced this with their little ones? Should I be worried?
    Thank you everyone 🥰

I would keep an eye out for it happening again or more signs of upper respiratory distress. If you live somewhere that is getting cold enough to have the heat on, it can dry out sinuses and cause nose issues. A cool mist humidifier in the room can help.
    Squirrels, squirrels and more squirrels....
Prayers for the people who make this a better world...

Ok I will try that. This has never happened before so I'm leaning more toward possible respiratory infection. His breathing sounds and looks ok it's just these really deep sounding sneezes right now. The mucous is opaque white and not yellow or green. The color may not matter in them like it does us? I've been lucky and aside from the odontomas he's never been sick. So I'm beside myself with worry

Given the past surgery, I would be concerned as well. Do you have any antibiotics? Now that Dr. E is no longer around, I don't know if her old practice will continue to support you by sending some out... I would be looking specifically for amoxicillin clavulanate.

Yes it's possible they may still send meds.
Unfortunately I spoke to Dr Emerson and no one at RAVENWOOD works on squirrels ☹️

Thank you guys so much. I had some antibiotics saved up from a previous trip. I had them frozen but unfortunately when Helene hit here we lost power for 6 days and I had to throw everything out.
I've kept a very close eye on him and the sneezing has stopped. He's still very active, eating etc. Do I'm not sure if it was a fluke thing or what? But I could get some amoxicillin dosed for humans to possibly convert. But it won't have the other component

And I heard about Dr. Emerson too. My heart hurts for all the squirrels as well as squirrel parents out there. It's so scary to think of not having somewhere to take our babies. Fortunately I do have a vet in SC that will see him. He just won't do any complex procedures. He's an hour away from me but more than willing to make that drive if need be. There's 1 other closer to me but I don't trust it after our 1 visit there.

I was told that if you call Henry's, they have a list of vets that will see them? I'm not 100% sure as I have not called myself. But it's worth a shot if anyone is still looking
