hello I just found 1 week baby, I was giving kitty milk replacer (liquid ) but got diarrhea I changed to Guanshiya milk replacer for squirrels (PODWER) but after SECOND DOSIS THE BELLY IS Bloated
what do you recommend still diarrhea persist ?need help asap

First, where are you? Can you get Esbilac powder puppy milk replacer?(I have never heard of Guanishiya) I suggest you hydrate the baby with plain warm water, and massage his belly GENTLY from armpits down to hips until the bloat subsides. Soaking for a few minutes in very warm water may also help....just from the waist down.

Please keep us posted as to his progress.

hi thank you for answering yes l have bought the esbilac puppy milk replacer it will arrive tonight so in the mean time just warm water ?
Also what sizes should l used ?
Anything else that l should l do ?

You'll need a 1cc syringe without needle; later you should purchase nipple attachments for the syringes. I recommend the Miracle syringes and nipples also from henryspets.com.

A lot depends on whether the bloat has subsided with your baby. How is he doing? What type of squirrel is he? If you can post a picture or two that would be very helpful to us. Bloat can be temporarily a problem but if not treated it can be deadly. We don't want to begin the process of feeding him until we know that things are passing through his system properly.

IF the bloat has subsided, you may hydrate him every 2 hours or so with the following mixture:

1 cup VERY warm water
1/2 tablespoon sugar or 1/4 teaspoon honey
pinch of salt

If it has not subsided, offer only plain warm water and continue massages until it does. Keep us posted!

I was better in the morning l just gave it warm water she is very active her lower theeth started coming out l think is a girl doesn’t it ?
