    Next steps.....

Start using 1ml syringe for feeding.

Keep close eye on squirrel breathing. Really hope its comes back to normal.

Listen closely to breathing for A/P clicking. Listen before feeding.

Check strength of Amox/Clav and keep 1 pill ready. If needed, TSB can give you dose instructions.

Update thread with status (don't start a new one). Add a picture of squirrel - we love pics!

I'll keep eye on this thread but other TSB members can jump-in as needed.

Thank you for the rescue of this little one!

He seems to be back to normal this morning! The 1ml syringes came (thanks Amazon!). Breathing normal, no clicking.

And yes, you were right, the dosage on the tablet of the amoxi-clav is 875mg/125mg

Thank you so much - I will continue to update

Great news. Monitor squirrel for any significant change in activity level and/or feeding drop-off. Keep 1 pill of the amox-clav ready just in case. Thank you for getting 1ml syringes. Post some pictures - we love pics!

If anything changes, post in this thread. Have fun!

Do you think a prescription would be okay for preventative measures? Or no?

He seems okay tonight but I think I may need help with a prescription dosage, please. At the feeding just now, he sneezed again and formula bubbles came out of his nose.

    Hello,

Prefer to only use AB when probability is high for A/P. Using amox-clav AB is hard on digestive system so its a trade-off.

I wonder if what you are seeing is the squirrel clearing his lungs & nose from the previous aspiration event ?? Its serious to see choking reflex as you described.

Please check your pill and confirm it has a 1/2 pill cut line. (using big pill into small squirrel is challenging.)
