Good job! Riley is very lucky to have your care! Thank you. I'm really glad you decided to give known AB. BTW, I like your term "cage rage"......its funny! Good luck on Friday for release.

    Thumbs up Re: UTI/Pyrometra

Happy ending for the Riley Lynn Rehab!

As planned, Riley took her last dose of Augmentin the morning of 07/23/24 (5 days/10 doses). We kept her for observation/urine monitoring/diet shift until the morning of 07/26/24 as planned. Transitional care went very well (good job Bene-bac!) and release was a breeze. It helps that she was already familiar with the inside of our house for unknown reasons

She came back to the window a dozen times over the course of the day, and every day since. It seems there are absolutely no hard feelings, and she is not showing any reluctance to interact with us. We tested her urine again early this morning, and I am not seeing a dramatic rebound UTI though the pH has moved a little more alkaline, perhaps 6.8 (which seems healthy to me!)

Her wound has healed so well I can no longer see it when she is in prairie-dog position, at least partly because her fur is now clean and fluffed. The lost hair on her face from cage rage is also coming back in.

She also returned to her March-born litter, including the cute little juvenile that was camped out in the lilac outside of her guest room. She brought the littlest one over today to talk to us too.

We are overjoyed that she is stable and well, back outside, and our bond still holds true. What an amazing privilege.

    Thanks again everyone!
