Rescued squirrel with back legs not working

Hello, everyone:
HELP!!!HELP!!! HELP!!!
I rescued a gray squirrel who might have fell out of a tree in my driveway. He was laying in the drive when I came home. It was about 5 pm Eastern time He has no bite marks or wounds. His back legs barely move or his tail. It looks like they can move, but he is not wanting to use them. He is drinking water. He didn't eat any of the walnuts or pecans. He is dragging his back legs when he does move. He is not yelping in pain, but can tell he is hurting. What can I give him? Ibuprofen? I have a medrol dose pack 4 mg tablets? He is a juvenile or young adult. He weighs a little under 2 pounds. Any ideas on dosing a squirrel?

They will need a weight on him to dose.
Could you possibly put up a pic, how old do you believe he is?

The medrol 4mg would be his best bet, getting it started sooner rather than later improves his chances.

We will need a weight since the medrol dosage will be determined by his weight.

He weighs 1.8 lbs. I only have a basic bathroom scale, so that is what I used. He is a young adult or juvenile gray squirrel. He ate some walnuts and pecans just a little bit ago and pooped. No pee yet that I have seen, but is drinking water. I attached a picture below. My cat is caged and to compare my male cat is about 4 years old.

A word of caution... these wild squirrel can be pretty docile after being injured (we often refer to it as having teh wild knocked out of them) and can become quite a biting handful if they come around... so please be careful!

Dosing info sent via PM for a 1.8lb (1lb 12oz) squirrel and not a 1lb 8oz (1.5lb) squirrel... let me know if I need to update / change.

You'll need a 1ml syringe for dosing (0.5ml would be even more ideal), and a 5 or 10ml syringe would be helpful to measure the water needed to mix up the solution. Keep us updated in this thread on progress (or lack thereof) as sometimes it is beneficial to tweak the dosing schedule based on response....

My scale only shows pounds. 1lb 12oz sounds right. He finally went pee. I gave him the dosage stated, so Day 1 first dose administered. Hoping it helps him. I will let you know how he is doing over the next few days. Thank you so much!!!

Hi, everyone:
He finished Day 3 dose this morning. He is eating nuts and drinking water. He can move his feet, legs, and tail. He stands up on all fours then walks a little and loses his balance, but he keeps trying. Hoping his balance improves.

He has progressed from dragging his legs to now being able to stand on all fours and walk a least a little since starting the methylprednisilone, is that accurate? This is great news... I would continue the protocol as originally provided!!!
