    Red face Spazzy Pee

Hi! I'm new here. I am taking care of my first squirrel. I am wondering if it is normal for a baby to spazz out before peeing. She can be deeply asleep but she jumps into action like the house is on fire when she has to pee. It's kind of cute and comical but I want too make sure this is normal. She's about 4 weeks old- eyes opened but not fully yet. She is very cuddly and loves being with me all day. Eats well, pees well and poops well. But I want to make sure this is OK. I've had her going on three weeks now. Feeding her by using the formula calculator. Weighing everything, pre mixing and letting formula rest 8 hours before using it. Making fresh formula daily.
    Thanks for your advice!

Are you stimulating her to pee?

Yes I am. And She pees when I do so. I started doing it more often to make sure she’s ok. But she just always shoes it. Even if I stimulated her and she peed 20 minutes ago, she’ll do this.

So my little one has a UTI I am asking around for Cipro or Baytril, Augmentin or Bactrim. In the meantime vet said I could give her ibuprofen. She’s 95gm. Is 15mg correct? I want to make sure I am not overdosing her.

As I mentioned initially she was peeing well. But now it is clear she’s in pain. Can’t pee when stimulated and eventually one or two drops come out and she cries. It breaks my heart every time. I am massaging her a lot. Hoping to help her pee and/or ease the pain. Any advice is appreciated.

Sent you dosing for Infant Ibuprophen by PM.

While hunting for antibiotics, add Amoxicillin to your list and also try Amoxicillin clavulanate (augmentin) and SMZ-TMP (Bactrim) to your list. Most meds are dispensed as generics if they are available and people may not know that these are the same drugs. Also, many people stop reading at "Amoxicillin" and they actually have Amoxicillin clavulanate.

This place sells Baytril, the veterinary version of Cipro without an Rx at a good rice, but there are only 3 left (I believe The Squirrel Board has been responsible for buying them out). It will likely take a week for you to get it. It depends on whether you think you will have any luck finding any antibiotics from friends. https://www.springwateravian.farm/pr...xacin-10-50ml/

There are other places selling this now but their pricing is as much as twice this.

Thank you!! I went to the site and immediately bought some. I have some antibiotics for birds (as I usually rehab those) so I will also check as soon as I get home. And I’ll modify my request as you advised. My poor little girl, I hate to see her in pain.
