Default Need Flyer squirrel diet !

My flyers are about 9 weeks now (Prim and Buddy) I want to make a list of all the fruits, veggies, nuts & seeds, insects that they can eat but I see a lot of “squirrels diets” but I know their diets can differ so if someone could please give me a link to a southern flying squirrel diet or please reply with a list it would be greatly appreciated I want to make sure I expand their variety of food as they grow older!
If you could list healthiest nuts and seeds to least healthiest it would be appreciated as well! Anything you can think of that might help me expand my research on them!

Some other things I thought of.

Do you offer a rodent block? My flyer likes Henry’s Picky Eater blocks from Henrys Pets online. He gets one half in the morning and one half at his nighttime feeding. I also keep Harlan Teklad 2014 available in his cage all the time.

Nuts are a very occasional treat in my house. I offer him half of an almond about once a week and an in shell nut even less often, just to help trim his teeth. Almonds have the least amount of phosphorous and pine nuts are the absolute worst. Walnuts, pecans and hazelnuts fall somewhere between the two. I never give sunflower seeds but will occasionally give him a few raw pumpkin seeds. I use dried banana chips as a treat. I break them into smaller pieces to feed. He loves them.

Flyers require a protein source at least several times a week if not daily. I use PureBites dehydrated chicken. It’s available at big box pet stores in the dog and cat treat aisle. It’s 100% dehydrated chicken made in the USA. I will also give live wax worms and meal worms. You can dust them with some plain calcium powder (no vitamin D in it) to make them a little more healthy. They contain a fairly high amount of phosphorous, too.

For the Vitamin D that they need to absorb the calcium I give mushrooms. My guy prefers shiitake over the others. I also give him a spoonful of vanilla full fat yogurt every night.

I can’t tell from your names, but if you have a male and female they WILL breed in captivity. Just a heads up!
