Default 6 week old grey sneezing after fluids?

    Hello,

I’m new here and need a little help. I have 2 little grey squirrels that are about 6 weeks old (eyes opened last Thursday). The weight about 150 grams and are very active little buggers. Well my little girl sucks so hard and eats so fast, I was giving some extra fluids because their stool is a little loose, and she started sneezing I saw no fluid come out of her nose but tilted her to be sure she didn’t have any fluid in her nose, she sneezed several times and I am just concerned. How do I slow her down (She is feeding from a medicine syringe and took about 4cc of pedialyte)? She eats about 8cc of squirrel formula every 4 hours, as does her brother.
Loose stool is not watery just not pelleted, so giving extra fluids.

    Thanks in advance

What size (ml's) is the syringe your using?
Are you feeding with or without nipple?
Stop the pedialyte, for extra hydration give *plain water. (*Can be lightly sweetened for taste with sugar or honey)

It’s a small syringe, only holds 5cc of fluid and feeding without a nipple. I have ordered some from Henry’s Pets with nipples but have not received them yet. I will try the water first, thank you for your help, hopefully the new syringes will be here soon.

A 5ML syringe for these babies is way too big. I'd go to the local pharmacy and ask for a few 1ML syringe (no needles). I suggest telling them you are feeding neonate kittens... just make it easier (some will refuse to help a squirrel, no one refuses helping a kitten).

Hold them to your ear like a phone and listen for a persistent "clicking" sound. If they get pneumonia they will have a constant click. They all usually "click", though a different sort of click, around feeding time. The pneumonia click is usually constant with each breath, even when they are sleeping.

If they develop pneumonia, the only thing that will save them is antibiotics.

Thank you for all your help, I will head to the pharmacy and get a few 1ml syringes. This two are so precious, their mother was killed by a neighbors dog, she had a litter of 4 but 2 had already died when we found the little girl and two days later her brother. Thanks again for all your help!
