Default Adult male squirrel still sneezing, watery eyes. Need dose for Cipro.

I posted on here not too long ago about my 3 year old male squirrel named Augustus. He has been having some concerning symptoms. Sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, and flicking his head. He seems to also rub his face/nose on his blankets and his cage bars. This evening I noticed that he is having trouble when he is drinking water and was gagging on it. Since my boyfriend and I live in Oregon we do not have access to a vet that will see him.
I was given previous advice to give him Echinacea drops in his water to boost him immune system. I have been giving him these going on two weeks now. He seemed to stop the sneezing for a few days but then he was back to doing it again. He is eating and drinking normally, (besides the gagging when drinking water), and playing with his siblings. His siblings do not present any of the same symptoms as he does. I also sent pictures to someone who works at the Squirrel Refuge in Vancouver and they said his eye looks normal and doesn't appear to show signs of Odontoma. I have checked his teeth and they don't seem to be very long. He chews on Antler's occasionally. I have not thoroughly checked out his ears but I am also not really sure what I should be looking for?

I was also told to get Fish Cipro 500 mg, which I have. I am curious if I should start him on antibiotics and what the dosage would be? I am having trouble getting back into contact with the man I was speaking to at the squirrel refuge.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The only way to confirm odontomas is through an X-ray. Odontomas affect the teeth. It can be a result of trauma to the teeth. The teeth actually grow inward instead of outward, so if you say your boys teeth aren’t long that may not be a good sign. Have you noticed any white tears in his eyes? The sniffling and watery eyes could also be an upper respiratory infection.

What is the weight of your squirrel? Meds are dosed by weight.

Would it be possible to take your squirrel to see Michael at Squirrel Refuge?

  3. Serious fuzzy thank you's to Mel1959 from:

I did see a white looking tear in his eye one morning but I haven't seen it since.
Michael (Duckman is his username), from the Squirrel Refuge gave me his number and he is the one who asked to see pictures of his eye.
He suggested the Echinacea drops in the water and said that if I saw any gooey snot collecting around the nose, that would be the time to start antibiotics. He asked for me to send him an update but I haven't received a response from him. I texted him again and let him know about what was happening when he is drinking water. I still have not heard anything. I know he is probably busy but seeing my little guy gagging on the water and still sneezing just worries me. I don't want to keep texting him and annoying him so I thought I would post on here and get additional advice.
I can get his weight this afternoon when I get back from work and I will let you know.

    Thanks for the help!
