Possible to loose baby teeth or break teeth?

So I am in the phase of having my squirrel in an indoor big cage and she will sometimes chew on the metal to try to get out.
I noticed the other day that when she usually does her nibbling on my finger her tooth felt extremely smaller.. so is it possible she cracked her tooth? Or do they loose teeth like baby teeth?
Really curious is she is ok and if this is normal or will she be now behind on opening things with her mouth if her main bottom tooth is now smaller.

Chewing on the cage can be a big problem. It can lead to malocclusion which is a serious problem, but may not.

Suggest you put some small pieces oak branches in the cage and/or a deer antler.

Chewing may reflect a desire to get out of the cage. How big is it? Does the squirrel get any time to run free?

Chewing can also indicate agitation and discontent.

The incisors of tree squirrels continue to grow their entire life, being worn down by their gnawing food, tree bark, antlers and animals bones.

Save for the case of severe damaged incurred to the root(s), when broken at the gum-line the incisors will grow out.

Cages with bar spacing of not more than 1/2 is the recommendation for squirrel cages precisely because of the problems caused by bar chewing.
