Default Red, swollen eyes. Should we worry?

Our little wild squirrel Faust came to the feeder today with red swollen eyes. He spends all day in our yard and in our trees. Today is the first sign of this problem and while it affects both eyes, his left seems a little worse. The left eye has gotten a bit more red over the past two hours.

Any ideas? Faust is wild, even though he was born here and is very familiar with us. I am mostly wondering if there is any reason we should be concerned enough to bring him to a vet or get him some kind of medicine.

    Thanks for the help!
    -Erin

I'm Erin's husband. Here are the photos of Faust. Faust is about 6 months old and has rapidly ascended to Sheriff of the Yard; he's a special guy.

The fist image is normal/healthy Faust. The next 3 show his swollen eyes.

Would love to hear what you think. Thanks : )
