Question Refusing to eat any leafy greens.

So after correcting Idgit's diet following this guideline Name: Idgit the Midgit 's Squirrel Diet Guideline ffrom Henry's Pets.jpg

Size: 121.9 KB he started to eat food from groups 1 and 2 and was beginning to increase how much he is eating, but now the past 2 days he has been refusing everything except a little bit of nibbling on the core of the iceburg lettuce, he still eats the Picky Blocks (2 per day 1 in the morning and 1 at lunch and if he seems hungry at night I will do a quarter of a block if he has eaten properly that day) He was starting to show more energy but now is becoming lethargic again, I am still doing calcium supplement but have been decreasing it and am around 150mg a day and the dried up urine spots usually show some crystal residue. Cabbage, baby greens and baby letteuce mix with spinach(I remove the spinach) broccoli cauliflower and brussel sprouts are what I have tried so far, he did eat the cabbage and iceburg lettuce for a few days no issue, same as the broccoli and cauliflower, I tried rotating them so he ouldnt get tired of just the same thing, but thats hat it seems like is happening. I have also tried steaming and boiling it, is there a better option to make it more palatable for him? He kinda ate a little bit of carrot this morning but unless its a block he is not interested, though he shows interest before he can see what it is, like he is hungry...

Try more variety. Offer arugula, dandelion greens, baby kale, romaine, watercress, sugar snap peas, a small chunk of sweet potato, avocado (no skin or pit), fresh coconut. Some greens are definitely liked more than others.

i have had some level of success with a wild who hated all veggies by putting a tiny bit of coconut & avocado oil (the mix) on the veggies. If you can't find the mix you could use just a little bit of the coconut oil - put some on youor fingers and rub it on the veggies.

Thank you both for the response, I have had a lot of success mixing a little cooked oatmeal into the broccoli and cauliflower (tomorrow I am going to try cabbage) and just have been making sure it is mostly the veggies and not just oatmeal he can pick out, he loves it, and makes a heck of a mess lol. There is baby arugula mixed in with the spring mix its a baby green and baby lettuce blend, I steamed them(without the spinach, I picked that out) then mixed it in with some oatmeal with broccoli and he loved that as well. He then has a bit of steamed carrot, raw cucumber, and/or depending of the previous amount of the other two given, some tomato. So daily schedule is 1st block around 7 am followed with the oatmealed veggies and a 25-50mg calcium carbonate dose with either apple juice or watermelon juice, he takes naps after every meal usually on my lap, then around 9 am he will eat some more of the oatmealed veggies, nap with belly rub, then around 11am-12pm (depending on how full the veggies make him) 2nd block with the oatmealed veggies, another 25-50mg calcium dose(varied depending on dried urine crystal stain, stool, and general behavior) with a small piece of steamed carrot, then around 1:30pm he gets his cucumber slice. Around 2-4pm he gets 1 hazelnut providing he has eaten the proper proportion of food without difficulty that day. If its a huge fight to eat or he just plain refuses, no nut. But providing he does get the nut, he gets an automatic 25-50mg dose of calcium carbonate with watered down (spring water) prune or applejuice mixed with watermelon juice. The rest of the day whenever he wants food, he gets the oatmealed veggies, until around 5 or 6 pm, after that if he still wants something(and this is Idgit so of course he does lol) I give him a quarter of a block.
