Help! Hawks!

Hi! I have a HUGE hawk in my yard, and I want to protect my animals before one of them gets hurt. I don’t want to hurt it, but how do I deter it? Please help!

I'm not sure of anything that will deter them exactly but I have learned they only stay where there is a steady supply of food. If you have bird feeders up and things of that nature you will need to take them all down. Eventually all of your feathered and furry friends will leave in search of food and when they go, so will the hawk. It really stinks but that is the only thing that I have found that works. It took about two weeks to make sure the hawk I had in my yard wasn't coming back.

Airhorns that you can get at the local home repair stores work well. The air pressure causes them to move off when this is aim at them line of sight within about 25 ft. It is the only means i know of that has been effective to drive them, other than the crows mobbing them or mocking birds attacking does.
