7-8 weeks , always sleeping,slinding back legs half time

Hi , so I am new here and I really need to know what is happening with the baby. When I got him he was playful , likes cuddling always on me or my husband. Since 2 days he is always is the bigger cage doesn’t want to go out . I have to give him food and milk inside the cage or he hides in his blanket if I try to get him on me. I notice when I found him a week ago that sometimes he was sliding his back legs instead of walking it. And now like I said since 2 days he is always sleeping wakes up for food or milk I try to give him a little low inside the cage with my hand only wants to play by bitting my fingers (not hard). I am really concerned by his new habit . Doesn’t seem normal he is suppose to be more playful I guess.
I started as suggest yesterday calcium but not much of a change ...

Pls help me I don’t know what is going on with him but is behavior is strange I know something is up....

Could he have fallen at some point? Do you have kids or pets who might have injured him and you didn't know? His diet is fine except I would not give too much fruit at his age.

Is his formula fox valley 20/50?

Are the cubes you mention Henry's healthy blocks?

He should be taking formula about 4 times a day. About 5-7% of his body weight at each feeding.

If he's taking fv formula and eating hhb's that should be all he needs for a healthy diet.

His wonky legs sound like mbd, metabolic bone disease caused from calcium deficiency.

If he has mbd, he may be in some pain and not feeling like playing.

RockyPops, it's highly unlikely that a 7-8 week old on Fox Valley formula would get MBD. I would not be concerned about that. MBD appears after 6months old, typically, but earlier if a baby was given the "bad" Esbilac last year. Neither is the case here.

I started with Esbilac milk for 2 days but I have been told that it was no good so I did a smooth transition to fox valley and the cubes from here in Canada that are recommande are the oxbow . I am giving him calcium for MBD since last night but not much change...but still no white trace in is pee.. should I be worried about all the change what do you think I am so confused I just want the best for this little baby??

And yes I have 2 small dogs that can’t go inside his room and even if they would I wouldn’t be scared they like everyone and everything.

He could have fallen and injured his spine. Can you confine him to only a portion of the cage so he can’t injure himself if he’s unstable? Is he still taking the formula? Do you have access to any meds like metacam (meloxicam)? Or can you get infant ibuprofen? These are both anti-inflammatory Ed and may help with swelling and any pain. Someone on here can help you dose it if you tell us the strength of the medicine and the weight of the squirrel.
