Help with underweight 7 week old grey squirrel please

Hi, i rescued a grey squirrel 3 days ago, ive estimated her to be 7 weeks. She loves her milk formula but is not too interested in solids and shes only weighing 104 grams. She feels a bit skinny to touch.

She was found while someone was re doing their garden, cold and skinny and dehydrated, she just crawled up to the lady.

She seems pretty okay other than her weight and she has some diarreah, very smelly

What formula are you feeding? And what solid foods have you offered?

Kitten formula. Ive tried her with varies nuts, dry mealworms, grape, apple and striped sunflower seeds. She has a little taste and then looses interest

Fin, your baby needs to be warm, then hydrated and then nourishment.

She needs a proper formula as well.

Kitten formula is not good - too high in protein, as cats are straight carnivores.

See if you can locate any Royal Canin Babydog formula. I know they sell it in the UK.

Stop feeding the nuts and sunflower seeds and switch her formula to Royal Canin. The kitten formula is undoubtedly the cause of the diarrhea.

The first solid food you want to introduce to her is a pelletized rodent block like Envigo Harlan Teklad 2018 or Oxbow Regal Rat. The Envigo must be ordered online. You might be able to locate Oxbow,but if you are still on lockdown then maybe the formula and block needs to be purchased online. There is another online company that sells squirrel blocks, but because they must be stored in the refrigerator I don’t think they can be shipped to the UK. The company is called Henrys Pets. They have other squirrel products they might be able to send to you, though.
