    Default Flyer losing hair

    Hi everyone, help needed.

One of my flyers is just under a year old and is losing a lot of her hair. I'm starting to lose most of mine too trying to figure out what's going on with her. I've inserted a picture. This started back in September, when a small patch of hair on her lower back disappeared overnight, and has gradually just gotten worse since then. Some of the hair grew back in full but the bald spots in the photo she has had for months. We have been battling this daily, have tried almost everything and are at our wits end.

For her diet, we recently realized that we should cut down on giving her such a variety of things to choose from, and have strictly been giving her Henry's Blocks, broccoli, kale, mushrooms, boiled egg, and mealworms.

She has plenty of space to roam, as we let her out in the evenings for playtime. Lots of toys and things to chew on.

Weve taken out all her pouches and bedding and washed them with Dawn dish soap.

Shes active and alert, behavior wise.

We've tried coconut oil, nothing. It just keeps getting worse and worse and I'm worried were gonna end up with a bald squirrel.

Could she possibly have mites? I've ordered Revolution and am waiting for it to get here, as that is really my last resort.

If anyone could help and/or provide some insight I would be so grateful. If the Revolution doesnt work the only other thing I could think to do would be to take her to the vet.

    Please help.

Wow, I’m not sure as your diet is right on. What type of variety are you talking about? I give my boys a variety. Is she eating the block or stashing it?

I really doubt this is mites but it won’t hurt to try the Revolution.
The location makes it unlikely but flyers are known for barbering. (Pulling out their own fur)
I think barbering the back would be difficult.

You said... one of my flyers. Do you have others? Any issues with the others?

    Thanks for the response.

Were were feeding a larger variety of veggies at a time, like sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, brussel sprouts, but have since cut back since we thought it might be a nutritional issue. This doesnt seem to be the case. She does eat her blocks. Theyre usually the first thing she goes for. However we do find lots of little crumbs laying around.
We have two flyers. The other one is a little older but gets fed the same things and has a beautiful coat. Never had any issues with her. They both have an equal amount of space, but share separate cages.

Most of the hair on her back is gone and its starting to thin out on her head and neck now. We thought it could just be a heavy first molt but it's gone on too long for it to be that it seems.
