Default WHAT TO DO WITH BABY SQUIRREL THAT HAS ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA?

I’ve had 2 baby squirrels for a couple of weeks and one recently developed(today;within the last few hours) a clicking sound when she breathes and she isn’t moving a lot. Please help with what to give her.

If this is Aspiration Pneumonia (AP) she will need antibiotics to survive.

Check your medicine cabinets, ask family, friends and neighbors. If you find any antibiotics, tell us what you found and someone will advise if that will be effective against AP. You will need only 1 pill. Best antibiotics is one called Clipro (ciprofloxacin) which is a human antibiotic; the animal / vet equivalent is Baytril (enrofloxacin). There are others that can be used.

We will also need to know how much the baby weighs in order to provide proper dosing instructions.

AP can kill within a few hours, so time is of the essence.
