Is the smz/tmp a liquid or pill? If a pill, how many milligrams?

This drug is not very good for pneumonia as it is quite slow acting. Your best bet would be Cipro. It is most commonly used for urinary tract infections. I would contact your female friends and see if anyone has even just one pill. You could switch to that from the smz if you can get it.

I have never dosed meds before.
CritterMom knows her stuff, and as she mentioned the strength of the meds determines the amount of meds given.
List any other antibiotics you may have on hand if you can't find any cipro with strength and someone will help you with dosing.
Just check back often, everyone is really busy with babies.
