Exclamation Injured baby squirrel. Should I intervene?

I just found this baby squirrel. His leg was severely injured (I could see the bone). I used chlorexidine 2% and tried to protect it.

Is he suffering? Should I let nature take care of him or are there any chances he might survive?

He is beautiful. Can you have him seen by a veterinarian? They can recover from a lot of injuries with help. Simply letting him die slowly from infection would be awful though - I would rather see him humanely euthanized than face that.

He needs some immediate help by way of heat and hydration. This guide was done for US readers but 99% of it is universal and is the best primer for baby squirrel care I have seen. It is 6 sections long but each one is a fast read: https://www.henryspets.com/1-basic-setup/
