Thick nails I cannot trim, any ideas?

So, Skillet loves to "binky" things, even if he's just out roaming around and I walk by in my robe, he's going to grab onto my robe tie and start skiing haha. He hops around all playful, not as much anymore though. We tell our 5 yr old, "looks like he wants to buck -n- bite -n- play" when he gets in that mode, haha. He plays the "jumping game" with her now, which is a huge deal to her because that means she had earned his trust. So she'll put her special robe on, just for playing with him, and he'll just jump back and forth to each of us. I remember when he was like a year old, he was so sick and that's the first time we took him to the vet in FL. He rode the whole 2 hours sitting on my shoulder. That turned out to be that he was getting into the big dried fruit trail mix and he was sugar overloaded and too dehydrated! Now he only ever gets raisins once in a while, no dried fruits from then on! Another time he was sick is when I didn't realize I was giving him branches he couldn't have, Ligustrum I think, not sure. Like the only time I just assumed it was ok, bc let me tell you, he will eat anything, he has no skill in figuring out if something's bad for him or not! His eyes just looked like he was ill and I actually gave him a charcoal tab and it seemed to snap him right out of it. I like to sing to him, I make up songs about his almond eyes, and his peanut head, his big cheeks and fluffy tail, and he'll just lay on his back and put his feet up. I can rub the inside of his leg and he'll turn it in that way, then the outside of his leg and he'll turn in outward. Just completely relaxed. Yea, we've had our squirrel twice as long as we've had our daughter so we really can't even remember a time that we didn't have him! He's just been with us through everything and we're happy to know him!

How did he get his name?

Howdy, I cannot seem to get my pics on here, prob due to my internet having issues the past week. I will post more than you want to see when I can haha. We went through a lot of names before deciding on Skillet. Cheeto was my favorite, BUT he absolutely would not eat a Cheeto and I couldn't rightfully name him that! So I decided one day, you know, it looks like he's walking around on a hot skillet. He puts his tail up beside him (like a sword) and shuffles around, zig zagging around like he's sneaking up on something. It really looks like he's on a hot pan, so cute. So Skillet he was named and by the way, he loves Cheetos now... And Skillsaw, well I think that part is pretty self explanatory haha
