    Question Squirrel losing hair

I’ve had my squirrel for 6 weeks now, and he’s about 9 weeks old. I noticed a patch of fur missing on his head about a week ago. I’ve watched it and just today I noticed that it may be getting a little bigger. I’m nervous that he could have mites. Does anyone know what it could be? He doesn’t seem to be scratching himself very much. He was for awhile, so I got him flea spray, and he almost stopped scratching completely. Can fleas make them lose fur? Should I be concerned? That patch of missing fur looks like he might be rubbing on cage bars or something like that. Both fleas and mites would cause scratching and not usually in a spot on the head.

What kind of a diet do you have your sweet baby on?

Oh dear! What would make him rub his head on stuff? Being locked up and unhappy? I play with him 3-5 hours a day..sometimes more.

And I’m feeding him Fox Valley 20/50..he gets about 13-18ml each feeding unless he’s full from munching on some Zupreem monkey biscuits..or Henry’s High protein rodent block (I offer him milk every 4 hours during the day). He also started on some veggies..which I had to cut out because he started to refuse his blocks. Hopefully he’ll start eating the blocks again so I don’t have to feed him so much!
