    Default Broken/missing front tooth

Hi!! I have a 13 week old male fox squirrel named Peanut that I rescued at around 5 weeks old (Hurricane Harvey). I noticed this morning that one of his front teeth is broken/missing. His teeth were fine Friday (last time I checked them). I am not sure if he feel in his cage and hit his mouth or broke it on his evening pecan. He ate his HHP block and veggies with no issues this morning and over the weekend. I tried to take some pictures (not always easy lol). His remaining front tooth looks to be crooked now. I have also included a picture of his bottom teeth to get ideas on if they look fine or not. I am worried that he might have malocclusion. He has tons of things to chew on to help grind them down. Does it look like it will grow back? We planned on releasing during the spring but now I fear this might make him a permanent resident. Thoughts or ideas? Name: peanut 1.jpg

I had this happened to one of my babies. He has a ton of other issues but his came back in just fine. Is the tooth broken at the gum line or inside the gum line? Can you see any part of the broken tooth at all? My guy actually lost two teeth. The top right and the bottom right. The top broke right at the gum line and grew back in about two weeks or so. The bottom was completely missing one day. Gum closed up like it had never been there. It came back about two or so months later.

I'd just keep an eye on it. Make sure you don't notice any swelling of the gum around the top teeth. Also watch the bottom tooth below that to make sure it doesn't start to grow too long. Hopefully it will come back with no other issues and be fine. Other's with more experience will probably chime in as well.

Based off of what I can see... it appears to be broken at the gum line but it is hard to tell because Peanut does not like to have his mouth checked. He is napping now so I will try to get another look later today with a flashlight.
