    Question Moody girl

My girl is about 1 1/2 Yrs old. And the last few weeks she has been trying to stash her food, she is not loosing weight and seems healthy , she has just finished getting her fall coat in .but the thing that is making me worry is her bad mood. She is more grouchy towards my son and even me. She will just walk around growling for no reason, she will even lay down and growl . And she has been clicking her teeth and flicking her tail. She is even grouchy to her favorite stuffed toy yellow. Could she be going in heat? Is this normal for a one and half yr old female in September? Do they also start stashing food ? This is also a new behavior.

She is certainly the right age to have her first heat.
Female grays' first cycle average at 1.25 years.
If that is the cause her mood should swing back quickly.
But she may be less affectionate than before.
Fully mature squirrels are instinctively loners.
