I'm sorry to hear that your little one has mushy stools. Is there an odor to the stool? What makes you think it's diet related? Can you post everything your guy eats....not just what is offered to him. How old is he?

I don't think I understand completely, though. If you say his stool is mushy, then I would assume it's soft. But then you say he passed such a large stool that he seemed in discomfort. Is this correct?

There are certain parasites that can cause abnormal stool, but there is an odor associated with it.

Hopefully, once you answer these questions someone will have a better idea of what might be going on.

yes his stools have a very strong odor. he has been heating his oxbow food and carrots but he wont eat any broccoli or anything else. i think its diet related because he only got this way after i started feeding him oxbow food and the only reason i changed his diet was because before he was only eating carrots and peanuts with some broccoli. he is about 6 months old or so and he was malnourished wen i received him with a scrawly tail.
and his stool isn't so much mushy as it is sometimes mushy sometimes complete liquid. i don't really know what else to say about him

If it has an odor it could be coccidia. This is a parasite but can be treated with the right medicine, which is Albon or Baycox. Is there any way you can get your little one to a vet or locate either of these drugs.

I don't know why the Oxbow food would cause smelly stools.

As a rule peanuts are not good for squirrels. Nuts in general are not good. If you are going to give a treat of a nut and you limit it to one a day, a better choice would be an almond or hazelnut.

It sounds like your little one needs a lot of other healthy food items. Please take a look at the healthy food chart Grinderhead posted. A good quality block like Henrys or Harlan Teklad is necessary to keep your little one healthy. You might try a different block and see if there are any changes in the stool. Both of these blocks must be purchased online.

Try acorn squash baked only, not too much though; it's just like when we aren't feeling well, go easy on it.

Acorn squash is a very well balanced positive Ca:ratio; it supports mineral balance, and bowel function.

With liquid stool you may want to give him a little measure of the organic Coconut water from Naked juice company. This is a natural source of electrolytes, that is key minerals; even was used in place of plasma in WWI.

He may have a bacterial issue. Using a Probiotic for pets can help there. Even one for humans in a small dose of 1/64 Tsp. of probiotic powder.
With capsules just open and remove 1/64 Tsp. keep the extra in a small container. One with the least additives is a good choice.

Raw honey is alkaline, cooking changes it's pH to acidic. Use from a new yet unopened jar so fungus there is no fungus issue.

It is a high sugar, so go small with this one, about 1/64 Tsp. put in Stonyfield yogurt, plain low fat that alos is a source of probiotics.

    From Care 2 webpage:

"Honey was used as an antibacterial treatment long before synthetic antibiotics were developed, in cultures all over the world, for wounds and illness. Honey contains an enzyme, antimicrobial in nature, which releases hydrogen peroxide and prohibits the growth of certain bacteria."
