    Default Henrys blocks and questions

    Hello,

My girl is 6 months. I'm still giving her the blocks for Flyers and Baby Squirrels? Is that still ok, or should I move up to adult blocks? And how many per day?
Oh and can I feed her the rodent blocks from PetSmart in addition to those so I can conserve the blocks a little longer? Does that make sense?

    THANKS SQUIRREL FRIENDS AND PARENTS!!

My girl is 7 months old and I have been giving her adult blocks for 3 months.
Below is the healthy diet chart. Pay particular attention to Helpful Hints. There are many experts on here and they may have other opinions. I know most try to allow their babies to wean themselves off of formula and then I believe blocks are appropriate.

    Thank you Scott!!!

She gets plenty of other greens and veggies in her diet. Some fruit and nuts throughout the week as treats, but as far as blocks, I just wanted to know at what age can I move her to adult blocks and how many through out the day. She gets a block first thing in the morning and nothing until she finishes that. She doesn't get a fruit or nut until she's finished her greens for the day. She a healthy little fluff ball, but I always check in to make sure I'm still doing a good job.

My guy is just over 6 months. I checked the website before I ordered last time and I want to say that the high protein/baby ones said through 5 months so I went ahead and made the switch last time I ordered.

    Oh thank you!!
That's what I thought, but I always like to check with other people.

fun fact, I just recently introduced citrus to her, so that's been an extra special surprise treat for her. She gets so excited for that. Also, cauliflower has been a new fave as well. So adorable to see her get so excited for little foods.

Sammy's first experience with citrus was last week. He stole an ENTIRE lemon from the basket on the counter and took off with it like a speedster. It was pretty funny watching him run with that thing in his mouth.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your continued help and advice.

Quick question, what can I do to make her feel better?
She's had diarrhea twice today. She in to an empty pizza box that still had some cheese remnants in it. Also got in to my backpack and ate a cough drop. I feel so bad. Oh and some butter. I thought I put all of those things away, this is also her first time in 3weeks running around the whole house instead of just one room. I broke my foot so I had to keep her in one room, but now that I'm moving around better I let her play in every room. I feel like such a bad mom, but thus I'd a new feeling for her and she's acting lethargic. Like worn out from the tummy ache.

I'll try and upload some newer pics. She's a healthy little spunky girl, but this is worrying me. Please help! Thank you!

Her name is Wallie. I thought she was a boy at first and then learned she was a girl, but still kept her name. It fit her.

I forget, for people to be notified of my reply, do I need to reply with a quote? I don't visit the board as much as I used to.

First, you need to give her additional hydration. Make some very weak sugar water or honey water - just a touch of sweet to make it more interesting and offer it to her warm via syringe.

If she still has diarrhea, you can give her about 3 drops of Pepto Bismol liquid - the pink stuff. Please be aware that what binds them up in Pepto is bismuth, and bismuth will also turn the poop black and will scare the heck out of you. Don't worry - it is just what pepto does. It is sort of a good tool, too - when you see the dark poops you know it has gone through the digestive system. If after that the diarrhea persists, you can give another or 3 drops of the Pepto. You want to use as little as you need to to stop the diarrhea because you do NOT want to bind her up!

And continue giving extra hydration - that is very important with diarrhea and is likely why she is feeling poorly.

There are SO many things she can get into if you give her the run of the house.
    (pizza box, cough drops, butter)
This is a warning, so heed it.

When did she eat the cough drop.
Keep hydrating her slowly throughout the day, keep her hydrated, and stimulated if you can
    to get the toxins out.

Even in the same room, they are so quick you'll never be able to stop her from biting a cord,
or other numerous hazards you won't even think of until it's too late.
It takes weeks to completely squirrel proof a house. Please contain her to one SAFE room.
We have seen way too many problems with squirrels finding the dangers.
Let me look for the thread that points out some.
I had a little red once that was out. I opened the toilet bowl to clean it and
he jumped into the toilet with me right there. JUST AS FAST as anything.
I scooped him out just as fast.
Prior to that I had notes in the bathrooms as a reminder to always keep the lid
down............it would have been avoidable if I had just cleaned the toilet when he was sleeping.

Thank you!! That is very helpful. I gave her a little dish of water last night that she'd periodically take sips from between naps. She was back to her bouncy self this morning and ate her block just fine. Still keeping a close eye on her today and if it persists, I'll do sugar water or pepto. I did search through other diarrhea threads and read about the pepto. I wasn't sure how much so I held off. Thank you again!

Thank you!! And yes, she's a quick little stinker!! I usually hide the butter, but forgot to hide my backpack with cough drops. That was last night, but she's doing a lot better today. Still watching her though. I'll be letting her out to play after her little nap.
