    Default Vegetable diet questions

I have a little grey squirrel about 15 weeks old. Tweak is my first pet that isn't a cat and he's honestly an incredibly complicated guy to take care of.

I successfully nursed him back to health from when he was 2 weeks and because I'm always so worried about him eating enough I don't think I feed him right.

At first while weaning him off of formula he was too picky to drink plain water unless it was in a cup (reminded me of a 3 year old) and would get lots of fresh homemade apple juice or non cafinated organic tea (which is pretty much dried fruit and non tea leaves). I cater him more than I should and I've ruined his eating habits which I'd like to change starting immediately.

He eats his blocks which were recommended to me by a squirrel rehabilitator because hhb blocks cost way too much to ship to Canada but what worries me is that he really does not like vegetables unless they're cooked. I'm assuming this isn't healthy for him.
He likes broccoli and celery raw but that's about it. Once is a while he'll eat some lettuce as well but not consistently. He likes cooked potatoes, carrots, turnips, squash, and beans.
On the other hand he can't get enough of his fruits. We don't give him nuts very often maybe a handful a week because we were told they're treats and not necessarily their main diet. So tweaks favourites are now Fruits and he probably eats too much. Grapes are his all time favourite and will do anything for them, he also eats SOO much apple and he likes melons and berries and pretty much any sweat thing we give him.

The last thing is that he's 15 weeks and I'm not sure how much he's supposed to weigh. I'm also not quite sure how much he does weigh but he's still significantly smaller than the other squirrels in my yard. He does seem healthy and has so much energy to play and jump and run and wrestle with me for hours every day but I'm still really worried that I'm being a bad squirrel parent and need to change up his diet.

Is there a way I can start encouraging him to eat vegetables with out having them cooked? Is it alright that he eats a lot of fruit every day? And how much should he weigh at roughly 15 weeks old?
Any answers would be much appreciated

While the HHB may not be an option the information in this post is still invaluable (removing stashes, providing healthy variety... and that your squirrel will not starve themselves to death if you offer only healthy food they should be eating!!).

I also read somewhere that Henry's recently started shipping to Canada with DHL and this has improved things. I don't recall if that improvement means prices have become reasonable, but it may be worth investigating?

I recommend diluting the tea/apple juice with water more and more each day until he is drinking water. Every living creature drinks water. He WILL not die of thirst with JUST water. You can also offer a bowl and a bottle. Mine enjoy sneaking ice cubes out of my cup, and get excited getting one as a treat, you may want to try that.

Also, check out the 'Safe Wild Foods' on this list. May be he would like some natural, outside foods (and they are FREE!):
