    Default Not wanting to eat.

We had to take Breck to the vet yesterday because of diarrhea. The vet gave us meds to treat for coccidia and giardia. He went from eating 14cc a feeding to just wanting only 3 but he's wanting to chew on everything and cusses ( that's what we call his chittering) at us to no end. He will nibble on the rodent block for a few seconds but then doesn't want anything to do with it. We got him a stuffed squirrel friend (it's a dog toy that looks like a squirrel) and he chews on its feet. Is ok for him to do tat and could him not wanting to eat be from teething?

His tummy could very well be upset, but have you checked his teeth to make sure everything in there is ok? --no sores or over grown teeth. I would also do the pinch test to check and see if your little guy is dehydrated from his case of diarrhea. If he is dehydrated give some pedialyte for several feeding to help.

    Homemade Pedialyte
    1 cup hot water
    1 tbsp sugar
    1/4 tsp salt

    *let cool, then feed
    *good in frig 3 days

We did pedialyte all day yesterday and the vet even gave him some fluids. He won't even take that. I'll try again to get him to drink some pedialyte at his next feeding.

What formula are you feeding him?

Figured out it was my mom over feeding him.

What meds did the vet give him???

This could be the cause of tummy upset
    and unwillingness to eat.

A little yogurt added to his formula and
feeding two hours before or after giving
meds can make a big difference.
