Re: Shakes and Tremors...Seizures?

Last week, this was followed by what appeared to be seizures; he would shake, kinda stiffen up, lose bodily control, and do the mehr mehr mehr sound. He'll stop and be fine, but start back up and it'll last off and on for an hour tops. This is not an everyday event; he is okay 98% of the time, though. Any thoughts? Oh, and we call him Nibbles. :-)
Finding a baby on the ground does not necessary mean they were pushed from nest. If mom was missing even
an eyes closed baby will venture out of nest in search of her. To young to hold on and maneuver around, this is
how many wind up falling to the ground. Sometimes particular birds can also be responsible for attacking and
pulling them from nest.
It does sound like seizure activity... Has this periodically been going on since you found him or started later on?
Many times with falls babies suffer head trauma and seizures will present themselves later down the road. There
are medications that maybe able to help control this if needed.
Greys open their eyes approximately at 5 weeks of age, if you've already had him a month that puts him at least
at 9 weeks possibly older. Diet is extremely important as squirrels have very defined nutritional requirements.
Seizures can also present themselves as with mbd when these babies are not getting the proper nutrition their
bodies require. Can you tell us what formula you have been using and all that the baby is eating and fed?
Also posting a picture can be helpful in determining age as well as overall condition and health of baby.
Edit: Seizures are life threatening! I 'm moving this forum there for best exposure and help for you and Nibbles.
