Question Ideal habitat/enclosure for a five weeker?

Hi! I am brand new here and so very excited to have found a place with so much good information!!

I will be getting my very first foster squirrel tomorrow evening. It is about five weeks old and not very active at this point. It's current care takers named it Pepper Ann, or Peppy for short!

I have a small dog kennel and a medium/largish kennel. I also have a plastic aquarium that is about 15 gallons. I also have storage tubs and boxes that can be customized to Pepper Ann's needs for the next few weeks. I know that I will need to look into cages and all that in the future, but I want to focus on right now. Once Peppy is settled in I'll start planning for the next phase

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Edited to add that I have a heating pad that doesn't have an auto shut off and I'm in the process of cutting fleece and flannel for bedding materials.

The storage tub can work for a few weeks, as long as he/she cannot jump out.
The dog crate is good, as long as it is the small plastic kind and not metal.

...... make sure you have a covered heating pad for him with fleece on top.

I believe that this is the ideal set up for younger squirrels, with a much bigger box or dog carrier in your case, http://www.henryspets.com/baby-squirrel-care/ Personally, I would also supply either a very shallow dish of water with a few clean stones in it to show the water level and/or a bottle.

That website is one of my favorite sources of information about young squirrels. If you haven't seen it yet, and like it, it also has a next button on the upper right corner so you can see all the topics they cover. IMO, they do an exceptional job with most super important information. That being said, if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask here as well.
