Also, the other day the smaller squirrel had a really hard butt and it looked as if a tiny bit of white stuff (puss??) Was in his butthole. So I soaked his bottom (with a fight of course lol) and rubbed his belly at the same time. His butt softened up and I haven't seen anymore white stuff but I'm still scared. And it looks like hes trying to go to the bathroom sometimes but nothing happens. Other times he poops ok. He won't clean himself down there like the bigger one will so I've been wiping him with baby wipes.
Next question- I guess I have 3 sorry.
The bigger ones poop is hard and today I helped pull some poop out of his bum and it look like there was something like a string holding the little pebbles together like a necklace. What can I do for that?
What you are describing with each from weight to poop in my opinion sure
sounds like both have an intestinal parasite. I would get them treated as
soon as possible. What you want to look for is a Praziquantel dewormer.
Most pet supplies such as PetSmart, Petco, carry it and in some places even
Walmart will carry it.
Weights can vary depending on individual squirrels but an average guide line
for a grey 7-8 weeks is 250 grams or greater.
How long have you had them and what formula are you feeding?
