    Question Strange Pseudo-Mange?

New here. Looking to have confirmed what exactly is up with this squirrel. I recently left a bag of bird seed in my yard unattended (by accident) and ever since, even though it has been gone for days, my yard has become like Squirrel Times Square.

They all seem generally healthy except this one that drops by several times a day. From what I have read on the web and in these forums, he most resembles a squirrel with mange but this diagnosis doesn't seem quite right. His general behaviour is normal and active, if a bit protective/territorial of any food. But he looks quite....off.

    I'd like to:
    a) know how to help the little guy
    b) make sure he doesn't get the other squirrels sick
    c) ensure that it isn't anything that could be picked up by my cat who is an indoor cat but spends a fair amount of closely-supervised time in my yard.

Can anyone confirm what the most likely cause is from a picture? He has black fur with lots of big patchy bald spots, mostly around his hindquarters and lower back with a weird dark spot of skin on his back above his tail. He also seems to be itchy. Mange??
