Exclamation Older squirell severely damaged leg

I found a grey squirrel with an extremely mangled leg he’s heavily breathing, I put him in. A cardboard box so he’s in the shade and has water and nuts but is barely moving. Should I try feeding him with a little syringe of milk? Please give advice our usual wildlife shelter is probably closed due to coronavirus. Need urgent tips I want him to survive for as long as possible. He has bubble wrap under his box, a heated hand warmer, a towel over the top to shade him and stop heat escaping, he took a sip from a syringe of water. I contacted my local wildlife centre and they told me to put him down but I can’t. He’s occasionally kicking his good leg and can move his head and tried to get out the box for like 2 seconds and collapsed.

Is there anything else I can do for his leg, it’s a deep gash and is probably broken. He is clearly old to an extent and is not a baby. I did stroke him and he stopped kicking his leg for a bit
