Bloating help!

I found a baby squirrel looks about 2-3 weeks old. He was taking formula great after I gave him Pedialyte. He now seems bloated or something similar. I have been massaging his abdomen. Wondering how long I should do that for? Also, soaked him but it seems to stress him out. I gave him just a single cc of food this morning because he seemed so hungry. I just got gas x for infants. Any advice would be amazing.

Did you give him some gas x? Are you stimulating him to urinate? You must do that. Sometimes they’re pretty stubborn and it takes a lot of stimulation for them to relieve themselves. What formula are you feeding?

I am stimulating. Right now fox valley is on the way so just Esbalic. What should I put the gas x in?

Give him 0.1ml of the Gas-X, do not put it in anything.

Fox Valley 20/50 is not recommended for babies under about 3.5 weeks minimum; labeling is for babies over 4 weeks.

Fox Valley 32/40 is not recommended by TSB at all because of digestion issues in pinkies.

Is the Esbilac the plain (not goat's milk) powdered version with a white of Burmese puppy on the label?

Do no give any more formula until the bloat is resolved... feeding additional formula into a stomach with old formula is one cause of bloat. Small amounts of water only.

Hopefully between peeing, pooing and the Gas-X another dose will not be needed. If the bloat is not subsiding after 2 - 3 hours you and repeat the Gas-X.

GOOD NEWS WE HAVE POOP!!!! And I meant the powder with the white dog on it

My baby I found was constipated a couple of weeks ago.

I gave her a splash of organic (Glass Jar LOL) Apple Juice in water, and she literally pooped 60 minutes later. While I acclimated her to formula I repeated this twice, and it cleared things up, and got her regular until she acclimated to formula. I think I did 1cc of organic apple juice (no other ingredient) mixed out with 3cc's of water.

Also this helped rapidly hydrate her and boy did she love it.. Only 2 times was necessary.

What I did was 'introduce' FV 20/50 1/3rd FV, the rest Esbilac. Then slowly increased the amount of Esbilac. She is now on 50% Esbilac and 50% 20/50 and doing REALLY WELL (crosses fingers). So I am going to stick to the 50/50 I think. I think the probiotics in Esbilac help her a good bit to be honest so I probably won't ween her off the 50/50, it's working well for her and she really seems to like it. That extra fat in FV really seems to kick up their growth and progress, she seemed OK on Esbilac, but not advancing enough in weight IMO. So I am of the personal opinion that Esbilac exclusively may not be the best? I'm not an expert here, this is just based on experience so far.
